AI Bundle (Hailo 8L) for Raspberry Pi 5
Want to use your Raspberry Pi 5 with a Hailo 8L AI Accelerator but not compromise on storage? We have you covered with the Pineboards AI Bundle!
This dual-device board offers both an M.2 2230/2242/2280 M-Key connection for your NVMe boot storage, and an M.2 2230 A/E-Key connector, home to the Hailo 8L AI Accelerator. The latter comes with a pre-applied thermal pad to help dissipate the heat whilst it crunches through your camera feeds and image data.
If you’ve already worked with the Hailo 8L with the Raspberry Pi AI Kit with software such as rpicam-apps, you can simply swap out the HAT and continue using your existing software/projects, with the added benefit of fast, bootable NVMe storage (no need for a microSD card!).
To ensure a quality connection between your Pi and PCIe devices, the included FPC cable is impedance controlled and our all-metal screws and spacers mean that everything’s nice and secure. Happy days!

Drivers
- No drives are required for NVMe SSDs on the Raspberry Pi 5.
- We recommend regularly updating the firmware to benefit from constantly improving drive compatibility.
- Hailo 8L needs the hailo-all package installed. (sudo apt install hailo-all)
